Programs
The Office of Housing and Development offers a few emergency assistance programs to the residents of Assumption Parish.
Emergency Food & Shelter
Emergency Food and Shelter provides assistance to qualified families with an emergency that meet the program guidelines. Assistance includes utilities and rent/mortgage.
Applicants must meet the program's income guidelines and be a resident of Assumption Parish.
Call 985-369-2026 to make an appointment. On initial appointment, applicant must provide the following documentation:
- Picture ID or Driver's License for all individuals living in the household 18 years of age or older
- Social Security Card for all individuals of any age living in the household
- Proof of income
- Proof of the need
- Current monthly bills
- Disconnect notice or notice of past due rent/mortgage
Emergency Medical Services
Emergency Medical Services provides assistance to Assumption Parish residents with their prescription medication costs.
Applicants must meet the program's income guidelines and be a resident of Assumption Parish.
Call 985-369-2026 to make an appointment. On initial appointment, applicant must provide the following documentation:
- Picture ID or Driver's License for all individuals living in the household 18 years of age or older
- Social Security Card for all individuals of any age living in the household
- Proof of income
- A valid prescription as well as proof of the need
